 Scolecite is a tectosilicate mineral of the monoclinic crystal system. It is in the Zeolite group. Scolecite is colorless white, pink, salmon, red or green, with needle-like, thin prismatic needles. It is very brittle with a MOHs hardness of 5-5.5. It is transparent to translucent with a streak color of white. Scolecite is pyroelectric and piezoelectric.
