Hemimorphite is a zinc silicate mineral of the orthorhombic crystal system with a MOHs hardness of 4.5-5. It's color is white, yellow, teal or blue-green. Hemimorphite can have a bladed crystal or botryoidal form and the crystals are often flat and long. Thee beauties have hemimorphic crystals which means the crystals have different terminations on each end (like Tourmaline). Hemimorphite is pyroelectric and piezoelectric, and it streaks white.
