Epidote is a silicate mineral from the monoclinic crystal system. It has a MOHs hardness of 6 - 7 and streaks colorless. It ranges from a dark green color to a pistachio green and if often found in the mineral Prehnite, as well as Quartz, Feldspar and Unakite.
