Dumortierite, also referred to as the Blue Denim Stone, is an aluminum borosilicate mineral of the orthorhomic crystal system. It comes in various shades of blue and sometimes a pinkish or purple. It streaks white and has a hardness of 7 to 8.5 on the MOHs hardness scale. It is often found in Quartz and called Dumortierite Quartz.
