Carnelian and Carnelian Agate are of the microcrystalline Quartz group. Carnelian (Cornelian) is a solid colored Chalcedony Quartz that is usually red-orange, orange, or amber colored. The darker, near brown variety may be referred to as Sard. Carnelian Agate is typically the banded variety of an orange-colored Chalcedony. True Carnelian is becoming more and more rare, therefore much of the "Carnelian" on the market today may be heated or treated, especially in jewelry. Both varieties have a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7. Metaphysically speaking, I feel Carnelian and Carnelian Agate have the same vibe and I work with them interchangeably.

Sacral Chakra Body Layout
Objective
The objective of this body layout is to assist in balancing and opening the Sacral Chakra.
Crystals/Material Used
1 Aragonite, 1 Carnelian, 2 Orange Calcite, 1 medium Clear Quartz point, Orange Essential Oil, carrier oil, cloth/wet wipe, and orange candle.
Procedure
Select a quiet area where you will be comfortably lying down. You may choose to light candles, incense, play music, nature sounds, or any other methods that help you to relax. Place a few drops of Orange Essential oil into a carrier oil and gently anoint your Sacral Chakra area. You may also diffuse the oil if you prefer. Check with doctor and vet (if you have pets), before using an EO. Place the Aragonite between your knees and the Clear Quartz point above that, facing up toward your body. Place the Orange Calcite on or right next to your hips. Place the Carnelian on your Sacral Chakra. Relax. Listen to your breathing, heartbeat, or nature sounds. Imagine an orange spinning ball of energy. Lie in this position for about 20 minutes or for as long as you feel is comfortable for you. As with all meditations or wellness sessions, sit up slowly and stand only when ready. Give gratitude for what you have received and enjoy a nice glass of water. Note: This is a great layout to perform during a full moon.
