 Agate is a mineral of the Quartz group. It is a fibrous banded chalcedony that is typically translucent. Agate comes in a variety of colors and has a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7. There are many types of Agates and their names are often based on their location, patterns, or colors. Metaphysically speaking, it is said that Agates tend to have a slow-pace type of energy and generally promote grounding, stability, harmony and mental clarity.
Botswana Agate is a form of Agate that has fine parallel banded lines. Colors may include pink, apricot, brown, black, and white. These beauties typically come from Bostwana in Africa, hence their name.
