 Strawberry day will bring out the inner child in anybody and it is so simple and fun to create. Like with most of my theme days though, color is very important. Make sure you get the message across for the residents to wear solid red. The only thing required to create human strawberries are brown and green construction paper. Cut out leaves from the green to tape around the neck and small ovals for the pits as seen in the pictures. The average strawberry has 200 seeds but you'll be busy all day if you apply that many!
 I also have a few "Strawberry Shortcake" glasses and hats from the popular children's character that I wear and put on residents to take pictures. At the dollar store, I buy strawberry shampoo or something else strawberry related to give as bingo prizes. If I have an entertainer that day, I call it the "Strawberry Festival" and give out strawberries during the party. The point is that the day is yours. It would be hard to have bingo, entertainment, strawberry trivia, word search and cooking all in one day so do what is good for you and meets your budget and needs. If you have cooking that day, there are endless possibilities of what you can make. Simply google strawberry desserts (short cake, muffins, Jell-O, cake, etc.) and you'll find a lot of great recipes.
