Think about the things that make you happy. You can either write each happy thing on a slip of paper and place in a jar or you can write it down in a journal. My daughter made me this, "Things That Make You Smile" jar as a gift many years ago. I still pull out slips of paper and each message makes me smile. This is a great activity for residents or for yourself. I also started keeping an "Enjoy the little things" journal which helps me to change my thought pattern when I'm feeling too much negativity.
