If you are having trouble with meditation, record your own guided meditation and listen to yourself. There is something very therapeutic and comforting to listening to yourself. This may be partly why I got into soul singing (long story for those who may not know - but basically, I channel myself (my soul, higher self whatever you want to call it), through singing. It's always a message I need to hear.
I do want to express that this is NOT about being a good singer or performer. This is about tapping into the depths of your soul so that you can heal, grow, learn, release, find peace, joy, and so on. Don't just hear yourself or critique your singing ability, but rather listen to what you are singing. What emotions are brought about? What memories are evoked? Here are just a few of mine. I had an entire channel dedicated to my songs but decided to remove them. I just recently started sharing them again.
